Spending a winter weekend skiing in Vermont is a very fine thing to do. And one of the best places to do it is at Okemo Mountain Resort, in Ludlow, in the central part of the state. Depending on your luck, you could find ice cookies, mashed potatoes, snow snakes and joy.
The distilled spirit of the moment changes almost as quickly as the must-have handbag of the season. Having just gotten schooled about Japanese whisky, our millennial friends informed us that in their precincts, Mexican spirits are actually the “thing” right now. Some of them spend agreeable Friday nights on the Lower East Side of Manhattan sampling different ones (one could even say that Mexican spirits are muy caliente among millennials, but that would probably be viewed by them as really lame).
What’s the most romantic place in the world? Like luxury, romance is in the eye of the beholder. And luxury romance even more so. For some it’s a secluded beach, for others a cozy chalet in the mountains. It might be a treehouse for two high in the jungle. Or a café in Paris.
It’s been six months, and we still miss the Four Seasons restaurant that reigned supreme for so long at Ludwig Mies van der Rohe’s landmark Seagram Building on Park Avenue in New York City. We know, time marches on, especially in Manhattan. But when we here at Dandelion Chandelier think about wonderfully luxurious products and experiences that are well and truly lost, this one is high on our list.
