The best of the summer 2018 luxury collaborations

The arrival of summer 2018 means the debut of some great new (and unexpected) collaborations, capsule collections and limited editions. Like summer itself, this season’s offerings are colorful, fun and refreshing. Whether you’re looking to unleash your inner child with a homage to Hello Kitty or Minnie Mouse, gearing up for the latest capsule collection from ultra-cool eyeglass maker Gentle Monster, or looking to do some good with Clare V, Pierre Hardy or Christian Louboutin, you’ll find your summer crush somewhere in this mix. After all, strange bedfellows are the norm in summer, n’est-il pas si?

The Best of the Spring 2018 Designer Collaborations

If designer fashion collaborations are any guide, the fate of the world may not be as dire as current headlines indicate. Listening to the constant drumbeat of conflict and trash-talking on the global stage, one might assume that building camaraderie across disparate cultures is a tragically lost art. But take hope, dear reader. Just this month, all kinds of mash-ups and collaborations are happening in the worlds of fashion, music and art. The pop-up was at The Wing in SoHo, with three rooms illustrating the value of time, and a numerologist on hand to give personalized readings. C’est la vie. Maybe next year.

Our multi-part week-long series will investigate all manner of fitness activities, news, and new trends. First up? We’ve written about the best spin classes in the world, and about the best indoor stationary bikes for those who prefer to sweat in private. As we conducted our research, we realized that lots of our friends and far-flung correspondents are men who from time to time participate in group spinning classes. Be it SoulCycle, FlyWheel, The Dailey Method (TDM) or some other studio, they report being a distinct minority in this milieu. So what’s it like to be a man in a predominantly female exercise class? In their own (lightly edited) words, our intrepid male spinners share their personal stories from inside the studio. The second opinion in our series comes from our Head of Communications, who is an avid road cyclist and two-time Ironman competitor who bikes 25 miles to work …
