How to Find the Perfect Party Shoes this Holiday Season

It’s nearly holiday party season, and you know what that means. Lots of opportunities to perch in a conspicuous place so everyone can see your cute shoes. Lots of opportunities to dance the night away. Lots of opportunities to be in agony because you wore the wrong shoes. Don’t be that person. Here at Dandelion Chandelier, we’ve been on a reconnaissance mission at Bergdorf Goodman and Barneys New York to scout out the footwear options for holiday party season. And we’ve got great news: there are some fabulous, fun, flirty shoes out there in every heel height – including totally flat. There are slides, mules, sandals, stilettos, kitten heels, booties, knee-high boots, over-the-knee boots, skimmers, and sneakers. There’s fur, feathers, glitter, gold and velvet. There’s crimson, navy, fuchsia, midnight black and pearl. Somewhere not far away, there’s a pair of statement party shoes waiting for you. Wardrobe Secrets: This Holiday, Green is the New Red

Juniper, holly, spruce, fir, evergreen, forest, dark billiard, or climbing ivy – it goes by many names. But the smoky, deep, mysterious, earthy shade of green that is showing up in holiday deliveries for many contemporary brands is delicious. For our money, it should totally displace red as the color of the season this year. We first encountered this shade – which looks great on everyone – when perusing the racks at Neiman Marcus. It’s not a shade that will jump out at you online. Even at retail, it’s quiet and shimmering, which is part of what we love. It feels festive, but not showy. Fun, but not loud. Grownup, but not dull. And it’s not shouting “holiday” in a way that will make you feel that you can’t wear it after New Year’s Eve. This is actually a perfect shade for apres-ski that will take you straight through March. And hey, who cares if you don’t ski? You’ll look as if you do, and that’s totally fine.

Luxury Legends: Can Rodeo Drive Measure Up to the Hype?

Rodeo Drive. The very words make the heartbeat of any devoted luxury shopper of a certain age accelerate. Long before Net-a-Porter there was Rodeo Drive: a magical boulevard with a median strip lined with palm trees and flagship boutiques for every designer and fine jewelry brand worth knowing about. Birthplace of so many iconic movie scenes about shopping: Clueless, Pretty Woman, Sex and the City – The Movie. The stuff of dreams. Fast forward to today, when retail is “dead,” everyone shops online, and direct-to-consumer is the way to get rich quick if you’re a purveyor of luxury goods. Is Rodeo Drive still relevant? Is it still fun? Or has the party moved on?
