One of the many hidden gems of New York is the charming and whimsical Arthur Ross Terrace and Garden at the Cooper Hewitt Museum of Design on Manhattan’s Upper East Side. This summer, it’s especially vibrant, with a display of colors that dive deep into the beating heart of the city. Like so many of life’s true luxuries, this one is free: the garden is open to the public at no charge. Don’t you love this city?
There’s a fresh new retail store on Fifth Avenue in midtown Manhattan that will temporarily transport you from the frenzy of the city to the countryside of Provence. The French beauty brand L’Occitane has opened a new flagship location with a new concept format, and it’s a happy refreshing experience of sunshine, lemons, and lavender.
There are many fine places to spend the July 4th holiday in America. But perhaps none better than the island of Martha’s Vineyard, in Edgartown, Massachusetts. Colonial-era homes, chic boutiques, a stunning harbor, and excellent food and drink. Add some sun, a fresh ocean breeze, a favorite travel companion or two, and you’ve got the recipe for a perfect Independence Day celebration. We decided to find out by spending an evening at EMP Summer House, the warm-weather outpost of award-winning New York icon Eleven Madison Park. The verdict?
