Luxury can get a bad rap. Sometimes deservedly so. In the wrong hands it can represent exclusion, inaccessibility, greed, frivolity, waste, gaudiness, rigidity, even fossilization.
On its best day, though, luxury can provide beauty, inspiration, illumination, pleasure, wit, tranquility, excellence, meaning and joy. It can represent grace, intelligence, elegance and élan.
At Dandelion Chandelier, we think that luxury is fascinating and complex: it’s transparent and mysterious; it’s elegant and edgy; it’s London, Paris, Manhattan and Monaco – but it’s also Brooklyn, Berlin, Iceland, and Ibiza. It’s on the street and online, and it’s definitely in the eye of the beholder. It’s soaring and grounded. It’s dandelion and chandelier.
Our name reflects the inherent duality of luxury, and it also reflects our editorial mission: to illuminate and inspire – to explore the diverse, eclectic, electric world of luxury in a smart, fresh and elegant way.
With roots in fashion, consulting, wealth management, media and investing, our team of far-flung correspondents provides a unique insider’s perspective. We’ll share our tips and insights (and maybe just a little gossip), and do our best to help you find the products and experiences that will help you live life luxuriously.
We’ll also spend some time reflecting on the nature of luxury itself. Excavating the past to help predict the future. Highlighting everyday micro-luxuries as well as grand adventures. Not just focusing on getting and spending, but also on celebrating the luxury of spreading light in the world through acts of generosity and grace.
We’re a global community with many voices. We’re curious, optimistic, and as bad-ass as the situation requires. Come join us.
