luxury calendar: the top 25 events in the world in November 2020
November is a month of remembrance, with Armistice Day and Veteran’s Day being celebrated. It’s also a month of anticipation, as the holiday festivities begin and the holiday lights start to twinkle. But for many of us, November is mostly about the moments spent with family and friends at Thanksgiving.

And while this year’s celebration may feature Zoom gatherings in lieu of big, boisterous ones, there is still much to be thankful for. In addition to obvious things like family and good health, we are thankful that, despite all of the difficulties of 2020, there are still events and activities taking place throughout the world that spread joy. And this month, thankfully, there is no shortage of them.
This November, arts and performing arts lovers can enjoy the unique gumbo of folk, blues and gospel of Martha Redbone from socially distanced circles at Lincoln Center or head to ICA Boston to explore the role of art in 2020 I’m yours: Encounters with Art in Our Times.
Sports fans can watch the NCAA College Basketball Season tip off and another Masters Tournament grace the greens, while K-Pop and music fans can enjoy the latest album drop from BTS. Book lovers can watch the Netflix adaptation of Hillbilly Elegy from Ron Howard or deep dive into the world of champagne with the new book Better with Bubbles in preparation for the holidays.
And for those looking to get away from it all: find a new road trip ready car at RM Sotheby’s Online Only: Open Roads Fall auction or book yourself an actual getaway to the newly opened White Elephant Palm Beach.
No matter your interests or tastes, there’s much to enjoy and be thankful for this November.

Diwali, the Hindu festival of lights, begins on November 14. Spiritually signifying the victory of light over darkness, good over evil, knowledge over ignorance, and hope over despair. wonderful holiday #2: thanksgiving
Whether you plan to spend the day with your quarantine pod or with extended family via video call, Thanksgiving is celebrated in America on the 26th, along with many beloved traditions, including the 94th year, the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City (which will be largely virtual this year due to COVID-19).
Thanksgiving weekend will also see lots of football, including a Detroit Lions game in the NFL on the 26th. There will be lots of food and drink, chief among them: pie, as well as expressions of gratitude. And there’s also Black Friday on the 27th.
By the close of the month, the holiday season will have officially begun. Of course, no one will wait until then to start decking the halls: all month long, holiday lights and decorations will be installed in the glittering cities and charming villages of the world.
Wherever November takes you, we hope it leaves you feeling thankful.
