Another popular tool for managing stress these days? CBD, a chemical found in hemp and marijuana. Although the science is inconclusive, CBD has been marketed as a cure-all for everything from anxiety to chronic pain to inflammation and sleeplessness. But unlike THC, another chemical found in cannabis, CBD doesn’t make users high and, according to the World Health Organization, does not appear to be addictive either.
This information, coupled with the recent federal legalization of hemp derived CBD with levels of THC below 0.3%, has caused CBD use among adults to skyrocket. And according to the cannabis market research firm, The Brightfield Group, CBD sales are expected to reach $22 billion by 2022. It’s important to also note that cannabis derived CBD is legal only in states where marajunana has been legalized. So what you’re seeing on the shelves of retailers like Nordstrom, Sephora and Neiman Marcus – and what your friends are likely using – is hemp-based CBD.
So if you find yourself interested in giving this new phenomenon a try, don’t worry because we’ve got you covered. Not only have we put together a simple CBD 101 Guide to help you understand the in’s and out’s, but now we’ve put together a list of some of the most popular products on the market to try, from sweet and chewy gummies to soothing lotions to ease your nerves to serums to help reduce your stress lines. Just remember that as with anything you put in or on your body, be sure to do your research, consult your doctor and completely understand what you’re buying.
