There are fantastic new hotels and resorts to explore this month, including the launch of Tuscany’s eco-friendly Sense Experience Resort. The arrival of the gorgeous Riggs Washington DC. And the debut of the Virgin Voyages brand and its Scarlet Lady cruise ship.

March also marks the return of the Four Seasons Bangkok. And we’re totally excited about the new andBeyond Ngala Treehouse, located in a secluded spot inside the 36,000-acre Ngala Private Game Reserve.

The world of food and drink springs into action this month with plenty to taste and see around the globe. Highlights include the Melbourne Food and Wine Festival. For a taste of Italy, there’s a new cookbook, A Blissful Feast. And the Taste Florence Food Festival.

Back onshore, there are multiple classic car shows and one of the oldest auto shows in the world, the Geneva International Auto Show. The new F1 season kicks off with the Formula 1 Rolex Australian Grand Prix.

It’s the month for the annual March Madness NCAA tournament, as well as the start of Major League Baseball season. Both tennis and golf swing into high gear at the BNP Paribas Open at Indian Wells and the return of the annual Players Championship in Florida.
Meanwhile, the Alpine season comes to a close in Cortina d’Ampezzo at the FIS Alpine Skiing World Cup Finals.

The fashion crowd will be stopping by FIT’s Gallery in New York for a retrospective on the original fashion publicist Eleanor Lambert.

Art Basel Hong Kong 2020 has been cancelled due to the coronavirus outbreak – but Hong Kong Art Week is still on. For furniture lovers there’s Midcentury Modern at Dulwich College in the UK. Finally, the Middle East sees the 14th edition of Art Dubai.

From lighthearted comedies like the new podcast The Last Degree of Kevin Bacon to the scary good sequel A Quiet Place Part II, there is a little bit of everything in pop culture this month.

Philip Roth’s The Plot Against America is on HBO. It-girl Billie Eilish kicks off her Where Do We Go? world tour in Miami. Oh, and there’s a little festival taking place down in Austin, too, covering everything from tech to music to film and beyond.

International Women’s Day will be celebrated on March 8th with hundreds of events worldwide. This year’s theme is #EachforEqual.
The coming of spring in the Northern Hemisphere will usher in Hanami, the Japanese traditional custom of enjoying the transient beauty of flowers. Pilgrimages to view the blossoms begin in late March and last until early May.
This year, Tokyo’s sakura blossoms are expected to start opening around March 17th. While in Kyoto they’re expected around March 20th.

America’s National Cherry Blossom Festival in Washington, D.C starts on March 20th.
The 66th edition of the glamorous Bal de la Rose, held annually in the Salle des Etoiles in Monte-Carlo, will be held on March 21st.
The Hindu festival of Holi will be observed starting March 9th. Also known as the Festival of Colors, it signifies the victory of good over evil and the arrival of spring. For many it is also a day to repair broken friendships. People gather on the streets for a giant color fight – throwing dyed powder onto each other – using the revelry as a chance to connect with others and let go of any past grievances.

On top of that, Daylight Savings Time begins on March 8th, St. Patrick’s Day is the 17th and the vernal equinox is the 19th. Finally, Mother’s Day in the UK is March 22nd.
