1. West Side Story on Broadway
After his kinetic reinventions of A View from the Bridge, The Crucible and Network, Ivan van Hove returns to Broadway with another buzzy reinvention of an American classic, West Side Story. The re-imagined production at the Broadway Theatre features choreography by Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker (supplanting the original iconic work of Jerome Robbins). It also features 32 actors making their Broadway débuts – Now in previews, opens February 20, 2020
2. Peter Doig in Tokyo
Painter of romantic and unsettling landscapes, Peter Doig has been named one of the most important artists in the world today. This month will see his first solo exhibition in Japan at The National Museum of Modern Art in Tokyo. Works in the show will range from his early-career images of snow-filled vistas to his latest, more figurative portraits – February 26 – June 14, 2020
3. Jan van Eyck in Ghent, Belgium
The city of Ghent has declared 2020 the year of the 15th-century Flemish master Jan van Eyck. He is the father of the Northern Renaissance and a pioneer who is known for his hyper-realistic style of oil painting, which shaped the trajectory of Western art. At the heart of the celebrations is Van Eyck: An Optical Illusion at The Museum of Fine Arts, the largest and most comprehensive Van Eyck exhibition ever staged – February 1 – April 30, 2020

With team captain LeBron James and team captain Giannis Antetokounmpo taking the floor, this is gonna be GOOD – February 16, 2020
7. Ruth Negga in Hamlet at St. Ann’s Warehouse, Brooklyn
Ruth Negga is reprising the role of Hamlet (a role she played at Dublin’s Gate Theater in 2018) at Brooklyn’s St. Ann’s Warehouse, alongside the original cast direct from Dublin. The show’s five-week run marks Negga’s first appearance on a New York stage – February 1, 2020
8. Paris Fashion Week – with luggage from Dior x Rimowa
Closing out “Fashion Month” each February is arguably the mother of them all: Paris Fashion Week.
