For many of us, Thanksgiving Day is the Super Bowl of home cooking.  And thankfully, there are plenty of food and wine events happening around the world this month to get us warmed up for the big event.  Highlights include the return of the St. Barth Gourmet Fest, the Dijon International Gastronomy Fair and the Big Sur Wine and Food Festival.  On top of that, there’s a slew of new cookbooks including Roasts  by Laura Mason and the return of NYC Craft Beer Festival.  Forks in the air, people – it’s almost go time.

The theme of this year’s Fire, Flour and Fork event in Virginia is “Celebrating Living Links to Land, Legacy and Larder.”  The festival features a mix of dining events, behind-the-scenes tours, demonstrations, talks from food and beverage producers, cookbook authors, chefs, bartenders and bakers – through Nov 3

Caribbean

The St. Barth Gourmet Festival returns for its 6th year featuring Michelin starred chefs from France for cooking classes by day and multi-course dinners by night.  Hopefully while you are there, you find some time for a little shopping too – Nov 6 – 10

For the 89th year, the Dijon International Gastronomy Fair (Foire gastronomique de Dijon) will be celebrated.  It’s one of the largest food fairs in France – through Nov 11
