On the design front, there are also several major shows and Design Weeks taking place this month, including Paris and Helsinki. Meanwhile, Berlin, Sydney and Chicago host their annual art shows. 

For auctions, Christie’s and Sotheby’s will host dueling Banksy auctions. Let’s hope that nothing at either sale self-destructs.

If you’re in Chicago, catch Virgil Abloh: Figures of Speech at the Museum of Contemporary Art before it closes at the end of the month.  It’s the first museum exhibition devoted to the founder of Off-White, who is also the Menswear Creative Director for Louis Vuitton – through Sept 22

Just when you’ve begun to wrap your head around Fall/Winter 2019 trends, here comes New York Fashion Week to get you thinking about Spring/Summer 2020.  This is the first NYFW with Tom Ford as CFDA chairman – Sept 6 – 14

Right after NYFW, London Fashion Week begins.  Victoria Beckham, Burberry, JW Anderson and more will present – Sept 13 – 17

Milan Fashion Week will see shows from Moschino, Missoni, Versace and more- Sept 17 – 23

There’s nothing better than Paris in the fall. Except for maybe Paris Fashion Week, with the likes of Saint Laurent, Givenchy and Chanel showing their latest designs – Sept 23 – Oct 1

The 14th annual NY Art Book Fair at MoMA PS1 in Long Island City is the world’s premier event for artists’ books, contemporary art catalogs, monographs, art periodicals and zines – Sept 20 – 22

Sotheby’s London will debut its first-ever online sale dedicated to Britain’s most provocative street artist: Banksy.  Banksy/Online will present a selection of the activist’s most sought-after prints and multiples, including his iconic Girl with Balloon and Grappling Hook – Sept 6 – 19
