If a little party is more your speed (after all, the kids are back in school, right?), you may be in the mood for the new W Ibiza. Or the new Nobu Hotel in Barcelona.

In the middle of the Mallorcan countryside on a romantic estate, Finca Serena has opened. The former farmhouse has been modernized with 24 spacious rooms though much of the original stonework remains.  The hotel’s peaceful grounds include fruit orchards, olive groves and a large aquamarine-hued pool flanked by sun loungers and parasols

Following a $45 million renovation, the Grand Resort Bad Ragaz in Switzerland has reopened to celebrate its 150th anniversary.  The hotel, originally built 1869, has been outfitted with contemporary décor throughout its new guestrooms, as well as a completely rebuilding the lobby, restaurant and bar.

The restaurant turned hotel chain Nobu is opening in Barcelona – Sept 12

Dublin’s newest hotel, The Mont, is a complete re-imagining of an existing property on Merrion Square. It’s close to tourist hot spots like Grafton Street and St. Stephen’s Green.

Marriott’s party brand is finally arriving in Spain’s party capital, Ibiza. The 162 room W Ibiza is located in Santa Eulalia del Rio, close to the island’s famous beaches and its thumping nightclubs. But guests don’t even need to go that far for a party.  At the resort guests can take advantage of several restaurants. Plus a rooftop bar and two pools, including one just for adults and another with direct access to Santa Eulalia beach.

2. united states

The nine-room Espacio in Waikiki hopes to redefine the luxury hotel experience in Hawaii for guests who seek the ultra-exclusive with personalized service and privacy. Each of the hotel’s nine floors showcase one, three-bedroom suite complete with a dedicated butler, Italian marble bathrooms, dry sauna, jacuzzi on a lanai, full kitchen and complementary luxury rental car

Oceania Cruises will be reintroducing its MS Regatta cruise ship this month. The Regatta will be refurbished in a $100 million renovation before reaching Australian waters on December 4, 2019. (Disclosure: the CEO of Dandelion Chandelier is a board member of the parent company of Oceania and Norwegian Cruise Lines).

The Guild has opened in the 1924 former Army Navy YMCA building in the heart of San Diego’s swinging Gaslamp Quarter.  Room categories take up the theme of guilds, with names like Society, Apprentice and Journeyman.  The original YMCA basketball court has been reinvented as the Grace Ballroom, complete with a mezzanine level on the old running track

Taking up residence on the top floors of Philadelphia’s tallest tower, the Norman Foster-designed Comcast Center, is the new Four Seasons Philadelphia.  In addition to standard Four Seasons luxury amenities, the hotel features restaurants by celebrity chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten and James Beard Award-winner Greg Vernick.

Among the notable luxury hotel openings this September is the InterContinental Maldives Maamunagau Resort.  The property’s 81 beach, lagoon and overwater villas and residences have a contemporary Maldivian design, unobstructed views of ocean panoramas, in addition to coming equipped with a private terrace and pool – Sept 1

Singapore Airlines is in expansion mode and will debut nonstop flights between Singapore and Seattle, using an Airbus A350-900 airplane. The service will be offered three times a week (Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday) at first, but then will  step up service to four times a week (Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday) in October.  No word on what their amenity kits will look like yet – Sept 3

The new InterContinental Phuket Resort is a collection of 221 rooms, suites and villas and is situated along 2km of the golden beach, Kamala, also known as Phuket’s “billionaires row”

4. middle east and africa

Nestled on the Southern edge of the Namibian desert in the Karas region is the luxury hotel that is just opening in September, the Sonop.  The resort is composed of ten lavish tents that beckons guests to live the life of yesteryear’s wealthy explorers from the early 20th century who traded their beloved homes for the bare Namibian desert dunes.

Located in the Khwai Private Reserve on over 200,000 hectares of pristine wilderness is Botswana’s newest safari resort Tuludi.  The resort features seven, tree-house style rooms featuring a mix of both contemporary and traditional African decor, shaded by the boughs of cool leadwood trees in addition to front and center access to the iconic Okavango Delta.

5. latin america and caribbean

Spread across 300 acres on the eastern tip of Virgin Gorda, Oil Nut Bay’s Marina Villas have opened.  Perched into the hillside overlooking Marina Village, Necker Island and Eustatia Sound, the new villas feature a private glass-walled pool and floor-to-ceiling windows

6. new luxury travel products and travel books launching in september 2019

Joining the market of top luxury suitcases, Together with Harrods, Briggs & Riley will launch a new TORQ collection this month.  The spinners will come in three sizes and will be available in hunter green, stealth black and granite

In addition to those books on our monthly list of new books, we are excited about the new coffee table book from Assouline, Capri Dolce Vita ($85), that explores the ancient resort island.
