trending luxury fashion brands you need to know about in fall 2019
We’ve scoured social media and the industry’s watch lists to give you the lowdown on 10 hot new designers turning out work that’s trending.
Something else these brands all have in common? All 10 of these new sensations are run by women. So get ready for a fashion-filled fall paired with a serious dose of girl power.
1. Rotate.
Since it launched in August 2018, fashion editors and influencers alike have been fawning over one of the hottest trending luxury fashion brands, the Scandinavian style meets uber-chic brand Rotate.
The brand is a collaboration between the Danish concept shop Birger Christensen and influencers Thora Valdimars and Jeanette Friis Madsen. The group aimed to create pieces that were unique, but also special enough to keep in your closet forever.
These are ultra-feminine pieces, mainly dresses, that embody the classic 80’s silhouette. Complete with puffy sleeves and ruching. But in a contemporary color palette that is guaranteed to help you stand out.
Our favorites are the party ready Raspberry Metallic Dress ($250) and a Embroidered Blazer Mini Dress ($525) that can be worn alone or with your favorite skinny jeans.
2. Brother Vellies.
Aurora James, Toronto-born and New-York based, is the designer behind Brother Vellies. Her goal in launching the line was to introduce the rest of the world to her favorite traditional African footwear while supporting local artisans and creating job opportunities.
James originally began with the introduction of the velskoen (pronounced “fell-skoon”), which is a popular style in Africa and ancestor of the modern desert boot. Now, Brother Vellies is one of the hottest trending luxury brands (that happens to be female-led). The brand offers a wide range of styles, men’s shoes, handbags and even a selection of kids styles. All while supporting craftspeople in South Africa, Ethiopia, Kenya, Mexico and Morocco.
Take one look at their feather, bow, cowhide and lace-laden options and you will understand why even Beyoncé is a fan. Excuse us while we drool over the gorgeous Las Lunas Atlas Boots ($895) and the ridiculously cute Mini Vellies ($95).
3. La Llama.
London-based label La Llama is one of the female-led luxury brands taking playful dressing to a new frontier. Founded by University of Bristol graduate Lydia Cooper, La Llama is a bespoke label that re-imagines vintage styles in unthinkable ways.
One of the brand’s biggest hits so far has been their reversible printed and faux fur trimmed coats. Have a look at this Hamalia Coat in Pink Faux Suede ($400), which is hand-painted and made to order in the UK.
You will also find retro ’70’s-inspired wrap dresses and corduroy flares, like these signature Luna Cords ($110), in an enticing array of candy colors. Royal family member and model Lady Amelia Windsor is a fan and soon you will be too.
4. Cecilie Bahnsen.
Copenhagen seems to be a breeding ground for some of fashion’s freshest rising stars as demonstrated by the city’s most recent fashion week. Among them is Cecilie Bahnsen, a Danish designer and LVMH Prize finalist whose frothy dresses have a whimsical, fairy tale quality to them that’s both playful and stylish.

If you’re itching to give some business to one of the hot female-led luxury brands, this one is a great place to start. Style dresses like the organza Trude Dress ($3,160) or the breezy Alberte Dress ($1,300) with heels for a night out or with chunky sneakers for the ultimate Nordic cool girl look.
5. Ashya.
Born from a love of travel, Brooklyn-based accessories brand Ashya was created by longtime fashion friends Moya Annece and Ashley Cimonewhen. It all started back in 2015, when the duo found themselves using functional yet far from fashionable old school belt bags during a trip to India.
Upon their return, the pair began designing a series of belt bags and travel friendly accessories for the modern day explorer. Cut from supple leather, Ashya bags are dedicated to exploration and effortless movement, aiming to unify function and style through purposeful designs.
Even better? All the brand’s styles, including fav’s like the Cedar Valley Multi ($695) and Palmetto Mini ($425), can be worn multiple ways. And they’re all unisex, too.
6. Rejina Pyo.
Based in London, Korean-born designer Rejina Pyo produces garments that are both simple and distinctive.
In 2017, the designer made a splash with her first SS18 runway show as an advocate for diversity within the fashion industry, by casting women of all races and ages. Since then, she has received a nomination at the 2018 British Fashion Awards for British Emerging Talent Womenswear Award. She was also placed on WWD‘s 40 of Tomorrow list.
More than just hype, her designs focus on season-less and livable items that aren’t limited to one era – no fast fashion here. Pyo refers to pieces like the Briana Lamé Shirt ($600) and Evie Faux Leather Skirt ($695) as “future vintage.”
7. Paris Texas.
Despite what its name might suggest, Paris Texas is a footwear brand from Milan, Italy. It was founded in 2015 by sisters Annamaria and Margherita Brivio.
The duo wanted to make shoes that felt fashion forward and that would last for years, while not being an unattainable investment. With the majority of their shoes hovering around or under the $600 price point, it’s no wonder the brand has already achieved a small cult status. Paris Texas has a notable fan base of celebrities and fashion insiders, including Emily Ratajkowski and Eva Chen.
We’re currently dreaming of the Gold-tone leather snakeskin effect boots ($527) with chunky high heels and the Yellow leather embossed slip-on sandals ($343).
8. Alison Lou.
Fine jewelry brand Alison Lou, founded by Alison Chemla, is definitely one of the trending luxury brands to know this fall. Alison Lou has made its name by creating fun, emoji-inspired jewelry.
And while that style still serves as her signature, in the spring of 2018, the New York-based brand launched Loucite, a collection of hoop earrings made of lucite in a wide variety of colors and sizes.
The brand has quietly become a favorite of celebrities like Gigi Hadid, Selena Gomez, Saorise Ronan and even Celine Dion. We love how fun and colorful the brand’s Jelly Hoops ($125 – $165) are, while for something a little more sophisticated yet playful, we like the Diamond Enamel Ear Huggies ($345).
9. SemSem.
We love the story behind one of the many trending female-led luxury brands, Egyptian-inspired label SemSem. It’s a reflection of the life experiences of its founder and creative director Abeer Al Otaiba.
Otaiba, who creates glamorous yet functional, resort-ready designs, already counts Gigi Hadid, Tiffany Haddish and Blake Lively as fans of her glamorous evening wear.
Marrying Parisian couture with Egyptian and Emirati influences, the brand is known for its precision cuts and luxuriously draped silhouettes, like its gorgeous Sarah asymmetric silk-crepe tunic ($1,025) and Pleated crepe wide-leg pants ($790).
10. Anne Manns.
Finally, we wrap up our list of trending luxury fashion brands to know this fall with Berlin born jewelry designer Anne Manns. Manns has a knack for designing bold, distinctive pieces that are just too good to wear for special occasions only.
The unique shapes of her jewelry are inspired by both sculptural art and her family’s vegetable garden growing up in Germany. Further, each piece crafted is intended to look good both on and off the body – perfect for the age of Instagram.
Speaking of social media, her Elia Earrings ($350) in particular have reached almost viral status, thanks to their trick of the eye. They seem to twist and coil inside the ear. We also love the handmade silver Adelheid necklace ($440), strung with a polished gold plated eggplant pendant that seems to have come straight from her grandparent’s garden.
