What are the best events in food and drink in June? Just when we thought we were about to get our summer bod back, here comes June with delicious temptations.
Several major cities and posh summer retreats are hosting “Taste of” events, including Amsterdam, London and Martha’s Vineyard to name a few. There’s also The Vero Beach Food & Film Festival and the Aspen Food & Wine Classic too, so be sure to try to squeeze those workouts in early, then relax and enjoy all the good things that June brings.
After all, the tastes of summer won’t linger for long.
1. June food and wine festivals
The annual Napa Valley Wine Auction has raised more than $150 million for the Napa County community over its thirty-seven years. Napa wines are up for auction, whole barrels from more than 100 wineries will be sold as lots; at the live auction, in prior years big-ticket items have included a private tour of the Antinori Family Wine Estate in Tuscany and private jet trips to Michelin-starred American restaurants and the Bocuse d’Or competition in Lyon – through June 3

The second annual Napa Valley Rosé Fest at Sterling Vineyards in California supports the Susan G. Komen Foundation for breast cancer. Held on National Rosé Day, the event will feature more than 30 Napa wineries – June 8

The Taste of the Vineyard on Martha’s Vineyard kicks off the Island’s social season. More than 30 years ago, the Taste was started by the Vineyard Trust as a fundraiser for the restoration of the Flying Horses Carousel. More potluck than posh, it was a small event in 1986, but has grown immensely in popularity and participation over the years and is now the most important annual fundraiser for the Vineyard Trust – June 13
This month the Aspen Food & Wine Classic will celebrate its 37th anniversary as one of America’s top culinary events. The three day event showcases cooking demonstrations, wine tastings and panel talks by leading wine and culinary experts – June 14 – 16

Spirits lovers will keenly watch the auction of a 48 year old Macallan released in honor of the 125th Anniversary of The Savoy. It’s part of Christie’s Finest and Rarest Auctions sale – June 5 – 6
One of the most highly-anticipated wine auctions in June is Sotheby’s Finest and Rarest Wines sale. On offer will be nearly 1,100 lots of Bordeaux, Burgundy, Champagne and more, offering a phenomenal choice of vintages, châteaux and estates – June 12 – 13
