You may have heard that there’s another royal baby on the way. That made us wonder: what are the best and most luxurious maternity wards in the world? If money is no object, how can you welcome your little princess or prince into the family? Our correspondent Jillian Tangen has rounded up the most posh maternity wards used by celebrities, royalty and the global elite. Spoiler alert: they’re really nice.

We recently learned that Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex and Harry, the Duke of Sussex, will be keeping the plans around the upcoming spring birth of their royal baby private.  That means we won’t learn any of the details around the baby’s birth right away – including which hospital they chose to deliver at.

That hasn’t stopped the press from speculating, of course. It’s been widely reported that they will give birth at Frimley Park Hospital in Surrey, near the couple’s new home, Frogmore Cottage, in Windsor. Other sources say they may choose a home birth. Both would be a break from recent royal tradition.

While we may not know any of the details around the little one’s impending arrival, that hasn’t kept our anticipation and excitement from building.

We’ve previously explored wonderful places to propose, and lovely get-away babymoons. Now, to help us bide the time until the tiny royal bundle of joy arrives, we thought we would explore some of the world’s most posh maternity wards to learn where the world’s elite deliver their children.

Best Most Luxurious Maternity Wards in the World

From post-partum mani-pedis to 24-hour concierge service, we’ve found 10 five-star maternity wards fit for royalty. One even has professional photographers on call for those first precious baby pictures. So forget the standard hospital food and roommates. Here are the swankiest hospitals to deliver in style.

1. Cedars-Sinai in Los Angeles.

Kourtney Kardashian, Beyonce and Victoria Beckham are just a few of the celebs who have given birth at Cedars-Sinai. The deluxe maternity suite package includes a personal doula and a three-room suite. Two-room suites are also an option. The rooms each feature a deep-soaking tub to help soothe moms in labor. The spa-like options include in-suite manicures and pedicures. You can even schedule a blowout, so you can leave the hospital with locks as bouncy at Kate Middleton’s.

2. Rose Medical Center in Denver.

Just because Rose Medical Center is considered a low-intervention birthing center doesn’t mean that it’s low-tech. Physicians here monitor their patients from their smartphones 24/7 leading up to their delivery and afterward. Post-partum, VIPs can enter one of Rose’s six luxury suites, where they’re offered the services of a private chef and a in-room jacuzzi.

3. The Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City.

For around $4,000 a night you can deliver in one of the multi-room birthing suites at Mount Sinai Hospital. You may even end up in the one that Gwyneth Paltrow used when she gave birth to her son Moses.

The suite offers views of Central Park in addition to its own private nurse.  The hospital also offers access to a midwifery program and a newborn photo session with Gaga Baby Photos. There’s also access to massage therapy – for both newborn babies and moms.  Other perks include mani-pedis, tea and cookies at 2 p.m. each day and a bedside mobile boutique just in case you are missing anything you might need.

4. Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City.

Before Beyonce gave birth to Blue Ivy, it was reported that Jay-Z commissioned a remodeling of several birthing suites at Lenox Hill Hospital. Contrary to those reports, though, the hospital’s executive director stated that the music celebs were actually housed in the hospital’s executive birthing suite.

This luxurious maternity suite features blond wood floors, a kitchenette, luxurious linens, and plush robes. There are plasma screen televisions. And a concierge that happily arranges for mani-pedis, haircuts and massages.  The hospital also offers 24-hour food service featuring everything from rack of lamb to lobster to New York cheesecake to wine.

5. The Portland Hospital in London.

In addition to excellent obstetric care, Portland Hospital offers couples suites with a full range of hotel services. That includes 24-hour room service, personal shoppers and fine dining. Champagne and oysters, anyone?

Additional perks are a birth announcement in the Times, a private photo shoot (every year until your child turns 18), and membership in the exclusive Portly Panda Club. New parents can even commission a gold, silver, lead crystal or bronze casting of the new baby’s hands and feet (for an additional fee, of course).  It’s no wonder that Victoria Beckham and the Duchess of York both choose to give birth here.

6. The Kensington Wing of the Chelsea & Westminster Hospital in London.

The Kensington aims to provide mothers with a bespoke delivery experience. It caters specifically to those seeking intimate and exclusive care. The service here is so highly customized that you can even choose the color of the drapes in the delivery room.

The hospital offers private suites with all of the services you would expect in a luxury hotel, including 24-hour room service and a daily champagne breakfast.

7. St. Mary’s Hospital in London.

Looking to be treated like royalty? Then opt for the suite in the Lindo Wing of St. Mary’s Hospital, where the Duchess of Cambridge has given birth three times. While there, she was attended by England’s top doctors. She also had a dedicated kitchen staff at her disposal and  amenities like in-room massage and hair-styling. It’s also the same luxury hospital and suite where Princess Diana gave birth to Prince William. The pedigree here is top-notch.

8. Clinique des Grangettes in Geneva.

It’s not often that you find a hospital with a Michelin-starred chef, but at the Clinique des Grangettes, you will. Set in a lovely park with beautiful views and offering 24-hour room service, it’s no wonder this hospital is the most popular private clinic in all of Switzerland.

9. Matilda Hospital in Hong Kong.

For a mere $20,000 down you can book a room at Matilda Hospital with a private balcony overlooking the South China Sea. That’s not all you will get, though. The hospital features so many amenities that you’ll feel as if you’re checking into a 5-star hotel. Our favorite feature? The food is catered from the nearby Shangri-La Hotel.

10. Prince of Wales Hospital in Sydney.

The Prince of Wales Hospital offers a program called Little Luxuries, which provides mothers and their babies a quiet and relaxing alternative to the hospital environment.  Following your baby’s birth, you can continue your post-natal recovery in a private room with beachfront ocean views at the adjacent Crowne Plaza Coogee Beach, a five-star hotel. Mothers are offered limousine rides to and from the hospital and hair-styling services to ensure you look as posh as your ride.

While it’s unclear just where Meghan and Harry will give birth, we can only assume it will have many, if not all, of the amenities that each of these hospitals provide.  And ultimately, wherever they decide to give birth, we know they’ll be in good hands. And hopefully we can expect a photo opp not so long after!
