The Academy Awards. Of course, we love the red carpet fashion show. But our hearts are in Wakanda, as Black Panther is nominated for Best Picture of the YearFebruary 24

we want to read:

The Source of Self-Regard: Selected Essays, Speeches, and Meditations by Toni Morrison, a new nonfiction collection of essays, speeches, and meditations on society, culture, and art, spanning four decades. we want to check out:

Roppongi Crossing, a triennial held by the Mori Art Museum in Tokyo; the show offers something of a scene report on the Japanese contemporary art world. This year’s theme is “Connexions.” The name refers to how artists are attempting to find points of unity in an increasingly fractured cultural and political landscape. More than 20 artists have been selected for this year’s edition – February 9 – May 26

The annual White Turf competition, held over three weekends in St. Moritz. The iconic event features skiers being pulled by horses over a frozen lake.  In addition to the horse races, the event features gourmet cuisine, live music and contemporary art exhibitions. Our friends tell us to expect lots of champagne on ice, along with winter sunshine and stunningly beautiful, snow-capped mountains – February 3, 10 and 17
