For many of us, Thanksgiving Day is the Super Bowl of home cooking. And happily, there are plenty of food and wine events happening around the world this month to get us warmed up for the big event. Highlights include the return of the St. Barth Gourmet Fest, the World Food Championships in Alabama and Gastromasa in Turkey. Forks in the air, people – it’s almost go time.

The Denver International Wine Festival draws in winemakers from across the globe, many of them underrepresented at similar festivals; the Chefs Fine Food and Wine Pairing Competition is a yearly favorite, where Colorado chefs compete to create dishes paired with two standout wines, with the audience tasting and determining the winner. After being cancelled last year, the St. Barth Gourmet Festival returns featuring Michelin starred chefs from France for cooking classes by day and multi-course dinners by night – Nov 1 – 4
The theme of this year’s cool-kid foodie event Fire, Flour & Fork, a gathering “for the food curious” in Richmond, Virginia is “Your Fork, Your Future.” The event features a mix of dining events, behind-the-scenes tours, demonstrations, talks from food and beverage producers, cookbook authors, chefs, bartenders and bakers. 2018’s theme will focus on “unlocking the power of the recipe box, looking at the stories recipes tell both within families and within social and political movements fueled by food.” – Nov 1-4

New York City’s newly opened RH New York, the Gallery in the Meatpacking District serves up an immersive experience that is part culinary, part design, and part art. Located in a 19th-century building with a new steel-and-glass tower that rises above the original brick facade, the buzzy see-and-be-seen flagship retail destination includes showroom space, art installations, a landscaped wine terrace, a coffee bar, and RH Rooftop Restaurant, an indoor/outdoor dining spot helmed by Brendan Sodikoff.
Michelin-starred chef Dominique Crenn and American Express have teamed up to bring international cuisine to an American audience with the Crenn World Chef Series. The dinner series (which will kick off on November 19, 2018 and end on May 15, 2019) is slated to bring nine international chefs to Crenn’s San Francisco–based French restaurant, Atelier Crenn, for an unforgettable dining collaboration.
