September is Fashion Month, with Fashion Weeks unfolding in New York, Milan, London and Paris – plus all the amazing parties, new product launches, store openings and other events that accompany them.
On the design front, there are also several major shows and Design Weeks taking place this month including Paris, Helsinki, Beijing and Vienna.
Berlin, Sydney, Chicago, Paris and Copenhagen host annual art shows.
For auctions, both Christie’s and Sotheby’s host their annual Asian Art Weeks. Other fun picks for auctions to attend this month include the sale of 60 lots from Sir Rod Stewart, and the 25th Auction for What Goes Around Comes Around.
Fashion
Ukrainian Fashion Week celebrates its 21st year, showcasing spring/summer 2019 collections – through Sept 6
Italiana: Italy Through the Lens of Fashion 1971-2001 from Rizzoli features the works originally displayed at the exhibit earlier this year at Milan’s Palazzo Reale; that great period of “Made in Italy” set the seal on the Italian lifestyle’s leading role in fashion and design – Sept 4
Louis Vuitton: Catwalk is a cocktail table book filled with two decades of fashion history, told through a sumptuous array of images straight from the catwalk – Sept 4

Beijing Design Week takes place Sept 19 – 27
The 4th edition of the Istanbul Design Biennial is being curated by Belgian design critic and teacher Jan Boelen and will focus on how design education can change in the age of information – Sept 22 – Nov 4

Auctions and Antiques
Christie’s hosts the Elements of Style in Hong Kong. This 4-day event will see the James Christie Room transformed into a lifestyle setting and will feature a selection of jewels, handbags and watches that capture the essence of modern style and craftsmanship – Sept 4 – 7
Over 1,000 works of art will be offered across six sales during Sotheby’s Asia Week, featuring a striking and diverse array of Chinese ceramics, sculpture, works of art, paintings and calligraphy – Sept 7 – 15
