Our Top Picks In The World Of Luxury This Coming August

Our luxury calendar provides a comprehensive overview of the top events unfolding around the world every month. It’s great fun to compile, and every month as we polish it off, we reflect on the entries that we most passionately want to be a part of in the coming weeks. If schedules and money were no object, and we had to choose the top ten activities in the luxury sphere that we’d personally love to do, here’s what they’d be for August 2018. How about you?

WE WANT TO HEAR:

The music of the Lucerne Festival  – this village by the lake is one of the loveliest spots in all of Switzerland; this year’s festival theme is “Childhood.” Performances will include music by Bizet, Tchaikovsky and Stravinsky – August 17 – September 9

WE WANT TO SEE:

Collective Rage: A Play in 5 Betties at the MCC Theater in Manhattan, which tells the story of five women — all named Betty — and how their divergent life stories inspired one of them to stage a play about the rest – Previews August 16, opening September 12

Netflix’s Like Father, the story of a workaholic young executive (Kristen Bell) who has been left at the altar and ends up on her Caribbean honeymoon cruise with her estranged and equally workaholic father (Kelsey Grammer) – Dropping August 3

Visionary filmmaker Spike Lee’s take on the incredible true story of Ron Stallworth, the first African-American detective to serve in the Colorado Springs Police Department, who sets out on a potentially deadly mission: infiltrate and expose the members of a white supremacist organization. BlacKkKlansman stars John David Washington, Topher Grace and Adam Driver – Opening August 10

Copenhagen Fashion Week  – August 6 – 12

The U.S. Open,  the last tennis major of the year, in Flushing Meadows, Queens. Serena Williams’s baby daughter will turn one during the tournament! – August 27 – September 9

WE WANT TO CHECK INTO:
