If you prefer relaxation, how about hitting up the new Rosewood Baha Mar in the Bahamas? Or perhaps it’s not quite vacation time yet and you still need to squeeze in some business travel before you can officially kick back and enjoy summer. No worries. This month there are even some great new options for business travelers visiting New York, Paris and Shanghai.
The Source Hotel + Market Hall has opened in Denver. The former iron foundry and modern hotel tower combine to form a hospitality, retail, design and culinary complex with 25 independent food and retail vendors, 2 breweries, 100 design-forward hotel rooms and a rooftop pool with panoramic views of the Denver skyline and the Rocky Mountains.
Known as the “Silicon Valley of India,” Bengaluru is quickly becoming a center of business, art and entertainment, and the new Conrad Bengaluru is located in the heart of it all. Overlooking the iconic Ulsoor/Halasuru Lake, the property blends old-world details with modern amenities, highlighting the changing local environment.
Located on the outskirts of an old gold mining settlement between Badlands National Park and Black Hills National Forest, Under Canvas Mount Rushmore offers stylish safari-inspired canvas tents with connected bathrooms and showers. The onsite restaurant, also in an elaborate tent, serves leisurely breakfasts and pioneer-inspired dinners. Built amphitheatrically to provide guests with a direct sea view from their rooms, the hotel evokes the island’s Cycladic spirit and cosmopolitan charm with its whitewashed rooms and verandas with panoramic vistas overlooking the emerald Aegean. It’s the only hotel in Mykonos to offer 24/7 concierge service from anywhere on the island via complimentary hotel-supplied mobile phones.
Sitting on Kotor Bay’s only private beach, Allure Palazzi Kotor Bay in Montenegro features 89 guestrooms, 10 villas with private beachfront access and 3 penthouse suites. United is expanding its service from the West Coast to Europe this month with direct flights between San Francisco and Zurich – June 7
And speaking of Zurich, get a jump on Art Basel by experiencing the annual Art in the Park installation at the luxurious Baur au Lac Hotel by the shores of Lake Zurich – the exhibit officially opens on June 11.
The former country estate of the third Duke of Marlborough, The Langley is set in the heart of the Buckinghamshire countryside. Sitting in a former royal hunting ground and with landscaping originally designed by England’s greatest gardener, Lancelot ‘Capability’ Brown, the setting of this grand country manor offers an escape where time slows and natural beauty abounds. As the sister hotel to The Wellesley Knightsbridge, it offers the same level of luxury and exclusivity, but with its own unique character and countryside inspired setting.
Uber is expanding its presence in Spain to the country’s southern Costa del Sol coastline in early June. The service will run throughout the year and cover more than 60 kilometres and the region’s most famous cities, including Málaga, Torremolinos, Benalmádena, Fuengirola, Mijas and Marbella.
The second hotel from the Cipriani family is set to debut this month in New York inside a completely refurbished landmark building. Mr C Seaport features 66 splendid guestrooms and suites, a full service restaurant and lounge area and unparalleled views of the Brooklyn Bridge, the Statue of Liberty and New York’s iconic skyline.
Delta will begin offering direct flights from San Jose, California to New York-JFK – June 8.
The MSC Seaview is the latest in a string of new ships for European-based MSC Cruises. A sister to the two-month old MSC Seaside, which just began sailing out of Miami, it’ll boast a similar Miami-Beach condo style. The 153,516-ton vessel features the same extra wide promenades that jut out over the sides of the ship – offering more outdoor eating areas, lounge areas and even an outdoor gym area. The ship’s top deck offers a ropes course called Adventure Trail, and two of the longest zip lines at sea (at 394 feet). The ship’s home ports will include Genoa, Marseilles, Barcelona and Santos – it departs Marseilles June 10.
Uniquely designed around the enigmatic shipwrecks that line Namibia’s Skeleton Coast, there aren’t many places like the Shipwreck Lodge. Located in a raw, rugged and remote slice of the African wilderness among desert-dwelling elephant and desert lion, you can discover enchanting desert flora, spend the day beach combing for whale bones and treasures from centuries of shipwrecks, or marvel at the remarkable nearby Clay Castles.
Passengers in Los Angeles will have direct Delta flights to both Paris and Amsterdam, beginning this month – June 15
Located in the Saint-Germain-des-Prés area of the Left Bank, Hotel Lutetia was originally opened in 1910 by the Boucicaut family, founders of the high-end Le Bon Marché department store. The hotel soon became a Paris icon, and has recently finished a complete renovation and refurbishment. The property spans seven floors, but the crown jewels of this classic are the multiple penthouses that offer private access to terraces with 360-degree views of the city.
The Bvlgari Hotel Shanghai will open this month. Located on the banks of Suzhou Creek, the property is the sixth in the collection. Balancing nature, contemporary design and heritage architecture, it combines a 48-floor tower with a majestically restored Chamber of Commerce Shanghai building dating from 1916. Lush gardens surround the entire property. The opening coincides with the beginning of the Shanghai Film Festival – June 20.
Head to Stockholm for Midsummer, a celebration of the summer solstice. Usually celebrated on a Friday in late June, it’s one of the most important holidays on the Swedish calendar. Stay at the brand new Downtown Camper by Scandic, a lifestyle hotel with an atmosphere that fosters togetherness, creativity and curiosity and fuels an urge to explore. As a hotel guest you can take part in daily activities that range from fun and social running and yoga to wellness workshops and inspirational talks – opening June 23.

Featuring elegant British colonial architecture and interior styling, the Rosewood Baha Mar will epitomize Bahamian refinement and sophistication. The resort will offer 185 ocean view rooms and suites, as well as five luxurious beachfront villas that are contemporary and residential in style – opening June 28.
