the miracle on ninth christmas pop-up bar
Our Food Editor Nicole Douillet arranged for us to pay a visit to a Christmas-themed pop-up bar in the East Village in New York City. It turned out to be one of the most fun adventures we’ve had all holiday season.
Miracle on Ninth Street originated at Mace in 2014. Since then, the wildly popular Miracle Christmas bar concept has expanded – this holiday season, there will be over 50 Miracle bars in the US, Canada, Europe, Central America and Asia. You can find the full list of them here.
the famous miracle on ninth egg nog recipe
One of the most popular specialty cocktails on this year’s Miracle menu is Jingle Ball Nog, a sophisticated and delicious twist on traditional holiday egg nog.
The owner of Mace and the founder of Miracle on Ninth Street, Greg Boehm, has graciously shared the recipe developed by Nico de Soto and Joann Spiegel.
We can vouch for its excellence; we’re not huge egg nog fans, because we find that its often too rich and too heavy — this version is lighter, more flavorful and far more refreshing than any we’ve had before. Give it a try — it might become your go-to recipe for holidays to come.
