- Chef Joël Robuchon returns to New York City after five years away with the opening of L’Atelier de Joël Robuchon, located in the Meatpacking District – Nov 1
- The Denver International Wine Festival draws in winemakers from across the globe, many of them underrepresented at similar festivals; the Chefs Fine Food and Wine Pairing Competition is a yearly favorite, where Colorado chefs compete to create dishes paired with two standout wines, with the audience tasting and determining the winner. Wine tours show off several of Colorado’s still little-known wineries – Nov 1-3
- The Dijon International Gastronomy Fair (Foire gastronomique de Dijon) will be celebrated for the 87th year; over 200,000 visitors are expected, with 580 exhibitors, making this one of the largest food fairs in France – Nov 1-12
- The Seed Food & Wine Festival in Miami is the self-proclaimed “first plant-based food and wine festival in the country;” highlights will include The Burger Battle, where America’s best veggie burger will be crowned – Nov 1-5
- The St. Barth’s Gourmet Festival was to feature 8 Michelin-starred chefs from France for cooking classes by day and multi-course dinners by night from Nov 2-5; due to the recent hurricane, the event has been postponed and will take place in 2018
- Since it first started three years ago, Fire, Flour & Fork has delivered stars of the food world to Richmond, Virginia; this year’s theme is “Globally Inspired, Locally Made,” and highlights include the annual Dabney dinner and a Q&A with Gabrielle Hamilton, owner of New York’s Prune restaurant – Nov 2-5
- The Big Sur Wine and Food Festival is still being held despite the wildfires in northern California; silent auction proceeds will go to assist victims of the fires – Nov 2-5
- The Kona Coffee Cultural Festival is Hawaii’s oldest food festival – it celebrates the annual Kona coffee harvest – Nov 3-12
- The James Beard Foundation’s Taste America Boston weekend kicks off with a benefit dinner hosted by Chef Daniel Boulud at the Taj Boston, followed by a day of cooking demonstrations; concurrently, the organization’s Taste America Austin takes place at the W Hotel, hosted by Chef Tyson Cole – Nov 3-4
- In Manhattan, the Guggenheim’s Works & Process features ballerina Tanaquil Le Clercq’s The Ballet Cookbook, which includes ballet history, stories about food, and recipes from notable dancers and choreographers including George Balanchine – dancers will perform works from the contributors, and food scholar Meryl Rosofsky will discuss the author – Nov 5-6
- New York Taste, the annual food-and-drink celebration, is back for its 19th consecutive year; held at the Waterfront on 11th Avenue, some of the city’s best chefs, bakers, and bartenders will be in attendance – confirmed headliners include Chumley’s Victoria Blamey; Wylie Dufresne; Greg Baxtrom of Olmsted; and Untitled’s Suzanne Cupps – Nov 6
- The 8th annual Coral Gables Food Wine & Spirits Festival features offerings from some of the most best restaurants in the area; food art; cooking demos and seminars – Nov 8-12
- The annual James Beard Foundation Gala will be held at the Rainbow Room in Manhattan, featuring a once-in-a-lifetime collaborative dinner by legendary James Beard Award winners, and live and silent auctions of priceless experiences – Nov 10
- The Turnip Festival in the Swiss village of Richterswil involves 26 tons of carved turnips in shapes like palaces, houses and animals and lit by 50,000 candles being paraded through the town after dark; afterward, visitors can purchase turnips and edibles made from them – Nov 11
- The 14th annual San Diego Bay Wine & Food Festival will showcase 150 wineries, breweries and spirit purveyors, and 60 of San Diego’s best restaurants, and will be headlined by Charles Phan, inventor of modern Vietnamese cuisine in America and Executive Chef and Owner of the Slanted Door family of restaurants – Nov 12-19
- On the third Thursday of November, the world will celebrate the Beaujolais Festival, as the 2017 bottles of Beaujolais are corked open; cafés, restaurant and wine bars everywhere will be serving the year’s new vintage, which is best drunk very young – Nov 16
- The Reboule du Rhone in New York City is a festival celebrating wine from the northern Rhone Valley, with proceeds going to No Kid Hungry – Nov 17-19
- Circle V: A Music, Activism + Food Event in LA is a chance to listen to good tunes and feast on tasty snacks all in the name of promoting vegan living; there’ll be performances from Moby, Waka Flacka Flame, Dreamcar, Reggie Watts and more, plus speaking appearances by Kat Von D and Nathan Runkle – Nov 18
- The fourth Monday in November is the annual one-day Onion Market, or Zibelemärit, in Bern, Switzerland; it’s been held there since the 1850’s and celebrates all things onion and garlic; restaurants in the area serve traditional onion tarts, cheese tarts and onion soup – Nov 27
