September 2017: Planes, Yachts and Autos

  • Salon Privé is the UK’s premier Concours d’Elégance, and features more than 150 supercars, hypercars and classic cars on display from leading marques such as Lamborghini, Ferrari, Maserati and Porsche; it’s held the grounds of Blenheim Palace, and includes a luxury retail village and gourmet cuisine; this year there will be a new offering: a comprehensive “Tribute to 70 Years of Ferrari” on the final day– Aug 31– Sept 2
  • The Italian F1 Grand Prix is in Monza, Italy – Sept 3
  • Now in its third year, the MYBA Pop-Up Superyacht Show at Porto Montenegro is a three-day, industry-only event where international brokers and agents can explore Montenegro’s infrastructure and cruising grounds, as well as its fleet of superyachts – Sept 8-10
  • Goodwood Revival is a three-day festival in the UK celebrating the halcyon days of motor racing, with the accompanying glamour of the 1940s-60s (period dress optional) – Sept 8-10
  • Europe’s first show of the boating season, the Cannes Yachting Festival, brings major players in pleasure yachting together to show their newest models and launch the show season. More than 600 boats will be displayed with opportunities to try out some of the finest yachts in the world, Cannes – Sept 12-17
  • The National Championship Air Races has become the last event of its kind and continues to carry on the tradition of the Cleveland Air Races in its 54th The event featuring six racing classes, a display of static aircraft and several flight demonstrations, has attracted more than 1 million spectators in just the last 10 years – Reno, NV – September 13 – 17
  • At the 67th edition of the Frankfurt Motor Show, carmakers including Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Porsche, and Audi will be unveiling new designs and models (the show is held every two years, alternating with the Paris Motor Show) – Sept 14-24
  • The Newport International Boat Show (NIBS), one of the largest in the country, features powerboats and sailboats; it takes place at Bowen’s Wharf – Sept 14-17
  • The Singapore Formula 1 Grand Prix is a night race run on the streets of Marina Bay downtown – Sept 15-17
  • The Bridge, a new blue-chip artwork and classic car show, debuts at The Bridge golf club in Bridgehampton, NY – Sept 16–17
  • The Genoa International Boat Show is unmissable for anyone interested in superyachts. Two marinas will display more than 500 boats in this floating show, Genoa, Italy – Sept 21-26
  • “A Salute to Vietnam Veterans” is the theme for this year’s MCAS Miramar Air Show, honoring the sacrifices made by the brave women and men who served for a country they loved. The largest military air show in the nation takes place in Reno – Sept 22-24
  • The pinnacle of luxury, The Monaco Yacht Show, is the ultimate showcase for the superyacht industry bringing in more than 500 exhibitors and industry influencers. In addition to the exhibition of more than 125 one-off superyachts, 45 new launches will be unveiled, 15 prestige cars and 2 helicopters will be exhibited. Port Hercules – Sept 27-30
  • Les Voiles de Saint-Tropez is a week-long event of competitive yacht racing and social events bringing 300+ yachts and 4000 sailors to the French Riviera to compete for the Rolex Trophy, which is the most prestigious accolade of the regatta. Bay of St Tropez – Sept 30-Oct 8
