• Cycling’s Tour of Britain kicks off in Edinburgh, finishing with the final stage in Cardiff– Sept 3-10
• The Kansas City Chiefs take on the New England Patriots for the first NFL game of the regular season at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts – Sept 7
• The 106^th Edition of tennis’s Davis Cup semi-finals and playoffs begin in Belgium and France– Sept 15-17
• The William Hill St Leger festival kicks off the 4 -day event leading up to horse racing’s Doncaster Cup, which is now in its 251^st year, St Leger, Doncaster – Sept 16
• Cycling’s UCI Road World Championships features 12 races in over 9 days, Bergen, Norway – Sept 17-24
• The Rolex Central Park Horse Show takes place at Wollman Rink – Sept 20-24
• The Laver Cup is a new international indoor hard court men’s tennis tournament between teams from Europe and the rest of the world; this year’s event in Prague will be the first edition, with locations rotating each year; Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal are expected to team up for the Ryder Cup-style event – Sept 22-24
• This year’s Invictus Games, established by Britain’s Prince Harry, will be held in Toronto and will see more than 600 ill, injured and wounded servicemen and women from 16 allied nations compete in 12 adaptive sports, Toronto – Sept 23-30
• The World Rowing Championships return to the United States for the first time in over 20 years at the newly-developed Nathan Benderson Park in Sarasota, Florida – Sept 23-Oct 1
• The 44^th BMW Berlin Marathon – Sept 24
• Wembley Stadium in London will host NFL matches on weeks three and four of the season, with the Baltimore Ravens facing the Jacksonville Jaguars – Sept 24
• Fit Pregnancy Club opens in downtown Manhattan with exercise classes, workshops, juices and workout gear for expectant moms – Sept 25
• The Presidents Cup, created by the PGA Tour, is a match play tournament between a team representing the United States and an International Team representing the rest of the world (minus Europe.) The event is held every 2 years, hosted alternately in the USA and in countries represented by the International Team. This year it will be at held at Liberty National Golf Club in Jersey City, New Jersey – Sept 26 – Oct 1
