  • Sotheby’s will feature Photographer Mario Testino (famous for his glamorous shots of models and fashion spreads in magazines around the world) with more than 400 works at auction in Shake It Up: Works from the Mario Testino Collection. The sale, will benefit Museo Mate in Lima, Peru – a nonprofit that aims to bring Peruvian artists to world attention and is expected to raise more than $10 million, London – Sept 13-14

  • Maison Chloe is a cultural space that opened this summer in Paris – to celebrate the 65th anniversary of the house, the first exhibition is Femininities – Guy Bourdin, showcasing the work of the photographer and his collaborations with the label.
  • The fashion and design crowds are flocking to check out designer, Kanye West creative director, DJ and architect Virgil Abloh’s new Off-White store in SoHo; called Em Pty Gallery, the space will feature revolving art exhibitions, with the label’s clothes and accessories positioned in response to the featured artist’s work
  • Brent Neale Winston, formerly of Kara Ross, debuts a new fine jewelry line with ecommerce site Moda Operandi; the whimsical pieces include unicorn stud earrings (with diamonds)
  • Kari Sigerson and Eliza Axelson-Chidsey recently opened shoe emporium Alumnae in the former Western Union building in Tribeca, featuring flats made of pony hair, fur, and python
  • Ginger Nutz: The Jungle Memoir of a Model Orangutan is a new book that is an affectionate comic adaptation of Grace Coddington’s bestselling 2012 memoir by her friend the artist Michael Roberts — Sept 1

  • Australian brand Zimmermann teams up with eyewear creators Cutler and Gross on a new line of sunglasses – Sept 4
  • Ukrainian Fashion Week celebrates its 20th year, showcasing the spring/summer 2018 collections of more than 60 participating designers before the international media and over 20,000 guests – Sept 4 to 9
  • Four years after launching its instantly popular line of minimal, sculptural handbags, Mansur Gavriel will reveal its first ready-to-wear collection this September at New York Fashion Week. Co-founders Rachel Mansur and Floriana Gavriel, who won “Accessories Designer of the Year” at the 2016 CFDA Awards, will debut the Autumn/Winter 2017 collection at the same time it will be offered to the public.
  • Russell Westbrook: Style Drivers is the new Rizzoli tome about the two-time NBA All-Star MVP turned fashion iconoclast; in it, Westbrook reveals how he uses style as a psychological weapon on and off the court– Sept 5
  • New York Fashion Week will see all eyes on Jeremy Scott, mounting his 20th-anniversary show, and Hood by Air’s Shayne Oliver, debuting his first collection for Helmut Lang – Sept 7-13
  • Minimalist label A.P.C., founded by Jean Touitou, celebrates its 30th birthday with the publication of Phaidon’s P.C. Transmission, a chronicle of the brand’s evolution – Sept 7
  • Harper’s Bazaar and Carine Roitfeld will host the annual red-hot “Icons” party at the Plaza Hotel in New York with a performance by cover-boy The Weeknd – Sept 8
  • Assouline publishes a window into the world of the designer with Pierre Cardin – Sept 8
  • Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Madrid will feature names in Spanish fashion like Custo, Marcos Luengo and Menchén Tomás, with 42 designers showing in all – Sept 14-19
  • Expedition: Fashion from the Extreme at the Museum of FIT in New York is the first large-scale exhibition of high fashion influenced by clothing made for survival in the most inhospitable environments on the planet and in outer space; it’s designed to “evoke both the beauty and the dangers of extreme wildernesses” — Sept 15 – Jan 6
  • London Fashion Week will feature the 20th anniversary of Emporio Armani – Sept 15-19
  • At Milan Fashion Week, one highlight will be the new design team of Lucie and Luke Meier making their debut at Jil Sander – Sept 20-26
  • The Miami Fashion Film Festival features local and international films that highlight fashion design through storytelling, graphics, sound, and motion; featured films also include documentaries that delve into the designer psyche and craft, fashion-in-film classics, and style-filled movies that inspire a love of fashion – Sept 21 – 24
  • In the movie Woodshock, Rodarte designers Kate and Laura Mulleavy team up with Kirsten Dunst in a story about a girl who takes a drug and suffers from intense paranoia – Sept 22
  • Paris Fashion Week Sacai is the pop-up of the week at Colette – Sept 26-Oct 3
  • A collection of Audrey Hepburn’s clothes and personal items will go up for sale for the first time in London at Christie’s, 24 years after her death. Key fashion pieces include a Burberry trench coat, a selection of her ballet flats, and a blue satin cocktail dress by Hubert de Givenchy, one of Hepburn’s favorite designers – Audrey Hepburn: Part I will be a live auction in London on Sept 27; online bidding will begin for Audrey Hepburn: Part II on Sept 19 and run through Oct 3
  • Mihaela Noroc has spent the past four years traveling the world and photographing women for The Atlas of Beauty; 500 of her photos will be published in a book by the same name – Sept 26
